Appointed by President Obama to serve on the United States Access Board from 2010-2022. Worked along with other Board Members to oversee drafts of proposed regulations, plan rulemaking, review public comments, and finalize accessibility regulations.

Championed captioning access on streaming media, including a successful lawsuit against Netflix as well as agreements with several other major corporations such as Hulu and Amazon
Strategized a legal victory at the United States Supreme Court with an unanimous ruling to apply non-discrimination protections to all students with disabilities in schools across the country
Succeeded in restoring centralized access for employees with disabilities in a class action employment complaint against the United States Department of Agriculture
Prevailed in requiring medical schools including at Creighton University and Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences to accept deaf and hard of hearing individuals into their medical schools
Secured a legal ruling against a state court to provide full access to all including the refusal to provide communication access to a deaf spectator
Advocated for full access to the legislative process including captioning access in lawsuits against the state legislatures of Oklahoma and Florida
